December 13th brought a beautiful, intimate celebration for Ileana and Daniel; full of love, laughter, and timeless moments that perfectly captured their connection. Their wedding was a reminder of why I love documenting love stories: when couples prioritize connection, the memories, the photos, and the emotions all shine through.

Getting Ready in Style

The morning began at a private Airbnb near Uvalde, tucked away on a ranch, with a stunning New Mexico-style house as the backdrop. It was a gorgeous setting for Ileana and her bridal party to prepare for the day. The light was perfect, the space was charming, and it set the tone for a relaxed and joyful morning.

An elegant & Modern Celebration

The ceremony and reception took place at the Herby Ham Center in Uvalde, a venue that offered both intimacy and functionality for a meaningful gathering. The wedding was chic and elegant, featuring a clean black and white color palette with splashes of green that carried through the florals, cake, and overall decor. Classic, timeless, and modern all at once.

First Look & Private Vows: Moments to Treasure

One of my favorite parts of Ileana and Daniel’s day was their first look and private vows. These moments are more than “photo ops.” They give couples a private, intimate space to connect, express emotion, and ground themselves before the excitement of the ceremony begins.

Witnessing their reactions...the subtle smiles, the laughter, and the tears, was magical. Private vows allow couples to speak their hearts without distractions, creating memories they’ll hold forever. I always recommend this approach: it’s one of the most meaningful ways to start your wedding day.

Another tip I love to share with couples: hold hands all day. Little gestures like this create shared memories you can look back on and remember vividly. Whether walking down the aisle, dancing, or sneaking quiet moments together, these physical connections make the day feel deeply personal and memorable.

Couples Portraits: Your Forever Photos

Prioritizing couples portraits is so important! These images aren’t just for the wedding day, they’re the photos couples post on their anniversaries, display on their walls, and hold close for a lifetime. With Ileana and Daniel, their portraits were playful, creative, and full of connection. Capturing these moments is always a highlight for me and for every couple I photograph.

Emotional & Memorable Details

Ileana and Daniel’s families added so much warmth to the day. Their loved ones were emotional, joyful, and fully present, which made photographing the day all the more meaningful. Every detail, from the modern florals to the elegant cake, was thoughtfully curated and captured beautifully.

Working with this couple was a dream. Their love for each other, combined with the support and emotions from their families, made this wedding a true joy to document.

If you’re planning your wedding, I encourage you to consider a first look, private vows, and plenty of couples portrait time. Hold hands, soak it in, and let the day unfold in a way that will create memories to treasure for a lifetime.
